A Full Moon (Eclipse) Birthday Reading For the United States of America With Interpretation
I decided to forego the Astrological analysis of the U.S. until a later date, possibly in the Fall. So, I am quickly giving here today the interpretation of yesterday’s Pentacross Tarot Reading that I did for the 244th birthday of the USA.
When I do the long (2 hour) Tree of Life Tarot Readings I always provide the clients with a brief summary of each card in the Reading following the Reading. For that purpose, I have the basic meanings of all of the cards written out and available to plug in to their document using autotext. I will share these basic meanings and then fine tune what I think they mean in this Reading.
The Past:
Princess of Swords
Here you have adapted to this mental personality who is very intelligent and perceptive, but who has a certain self-righteous anger or judgment, which she feels justified in having. This is bad enough when it is directed outwardly against others, but it is much more damaging when it is directed inwardly against herself. (End Quote)
To me this was happening before the Pandemic, but also characterized the early stages of the Pandemic. Everybody was angry and judgmental about something, about Trump, about the Republicans, about the Democrats, about the fake news media, about Right Wing media, about China etc.
Myself I tend to get angry about everyone always being so angry.
The Present:
Prince of Disks
Here you have adapted to this earthy personality who is very practical and pragmatic, a capable manager of practical material affairs. He is, however, based on fear or insecurity and therefore not very emotional or spiritually aspirational. (End Quote)
To me this is how we are all coping now, just hunkering down and trying to keep our material plane scene functioning and together, but also as a way of avoiding the deep vulnerabilities and emotions which are below the surface of everything.
The Challenge or Blockage:
Seven of Disks – Failure
This corresponds to Saturn in Taurus. Taurus relates to the month of May when the leaves are green, the birds are singing and everyone is in love. Saturn is the planet of karma, lessons and restrictions. Here Saturn has come into the month of May and turned the leaves black and dead and dying. The only reason there is a sense of failure, however, is because of the awareness of the potential of the month of May, which is not being fully lived or realized at this time. (End Quote)
I see this as our challenge, even though a bit of a heavy one. Our challenge is to recognize the potential of how life could be (the month of May). If we were not so angry and divided and quick to criticize and stuck in the victim/victimizer program. Part of meeting that challenge is to recognize how far we are from it, and how much determined hard work it is going to take to bring it about, within ourselves, our communities and our nation.
A comment I would make to a client with this card in this position is: That potential to regain the ‘month of May,’ wouldn’t be there if you did not have the ability to do it. Life would not be asking it of you.
What Can Help:
Four of Wands – Completion
Here you have a positive, balanced, stable will energy, but contained within the limits of a circle, in somewhat of a ‘holding pattern,’ being somewhat rigid. (End Quote)
This seems like the best next step we can take at this time. Basically, to just accept that we are in a temporary ‘holding pattern’ and to just try to temporarily use this time to take stock of things and be present with, and allow whatever processes within, are trying to take place.
To me this is the best next step to move out of the denial and practical/material obsessiveness of the Prince of Disks.
Possible Future:
Two of Wands – Dominion
Here you have a fiery, balanced, dynamic will energy, creating an aura and sense of dominion. (End Quote)
The caveat for the card in this position in every Reading is that this is the possible future, based on conditions in the present, but can always be changed because any future prediction is a probability based on conditions in the present but can always be changed because we have free will. In fact, if I see a negative card in this position I always try to explain why I think it is there and what you can do to change it. I usually add: ‘In my view, if you can’t change the future why bother to look at it?”
This, however, I am happy to say, is a very positive card. It looks like eventually the U.S. is going to ‘get its mojo back.’ We are going to get back to a much more positive, confident, focused will energy to do what we have to do.
Now, again, with every client with this card, especially following the previous cards they just got, I would be inclined to say: “Now, how long it takes you to get there? That is up to you.”
It does, however, appear that we are on track for getting there, sooner or later.
And, as I said yesterday, if you are going to have only one really positive card in a Reading, the future is a good place to have it.
It now, somehow, seems appropriate to end this Reading by simply reposting the quote by Isabel Allende.
Blessings to you All,
Steffan Vanel
From Isabel Allende
Locked up in her home with her husband and two dogs, the Chilean writer has lived in the United States for 30 years.
Consulted by the main fear of the virus, * which is death *, the writer said that since her daughter Paula died, 27 years ago, she lost her fear forever: ′′ First, because I saw her die in my arms, and I realized that death is like birth, it’s a transition, a threshold, and I lost fear personally. Now, if I get the virus, I belong to the most vulnerable population, the elderly, I’m 77 years old and I know if I get it I’m going to die. Then the possibility of death comes very clear to me right now, I see it curious and without any fear.
What the pandemic has taught me is to drop things, realize how little I need. I don’t need to shop, I don’t need to go anywhere, or travel. I think I have too much. I look around and tell myself why all this. What do I need more than two dishes for.
Afterwards, realizing who the real friends and people I want to be with.
What do you think the pandemic teaches us all? He’s teaching us priorities and showing us a reality. The reality of inequality. How some people spend the pandemic on a yacht in the Caribbean, and other people are going hungry.
He has also taught us that we are one family. What happens to a human being in Wuhan, happens to the planet, happens to all of us. There’s no tribal idea that we’re separated from the group and that we can defend the group while the rest of the people scrub. There are no walls, no walls that can separate people.
Creators, artists, scientists, all young people, many women, are considering a new normal. They don’t want to go back to what was normal. They’re wondering what world we want. That’s the most important question right now. That dream from a different world: that’s where we have to go.
And I reflect: I realized at some point that one comes into the world to lose everything. The more one lives, the more he loses. You lose your parents first, sometimes very loved people around you, your pets, places and your own faculties too. You can’t live in fear, because it makes you imagine what hasn’t happened yet and you suffer twice as much. We need to relax a little, try to enjoy what we have and live in the present “.
