On Monday (Labor Day)
Monday, September 9, 2020
The temperature had dropped 20 degrees the night before, causing strong gusting winds all day.
In the late afternoon someone in a brand-new Cadillac did not feel like driving up a dirt road. So, they pulled off into field of tall, very dry grass with their hot catalytic converter underneath and….
I didn’t get the warning that I had to evacuate my place until the fire was 300 yards away and I had to leave immediately. I left with my laptop and the clothes on my back, and could see the flames cresting the hill 100 yards away, and moving really fast when I left.
I didn’t know until the next morning whether they were able to save my place. But then I got the news. Everything had burned to the ground.
It was pretty heavy when I went up later that day and saw the devastation. Fire is such a powerful elemental force.
I must say, in recent years, I had contemplated making a move to another place in the world. I had so much accumulated stuff to deal with before I could make such a move, however, that I just relegated the idea to the category of ‘maybe in 2 or 3 years.’.
Well, now I have no more ‘stuff.’
I asked my cards if I should stay in this area or move somewhere else and they said to move somewhere else.
I’m not sure where that will be right now. I have found a place to rent in the local area temporarily. I’m currently contemplating relocating to Eugene, Oregon or Maui, Hawaii.
Most of the stuff I lost are things I can buy again. One of the more poignant losses, however, is my extensive library of books I’ve been accumulating for years. Obviously, many of those books are now out of print.
I also lost virtually all of my print copies of the Hilarion Series of books which are also out of print. I have most of them scanned into my computer but if anyone has one lying around that they would like to donate, I would be most appreciative.
Unfortunately, homes like mine, off the grid, with wood heat, etc., are not eligible for homeowner’s insurance. So, I have really lost everything with no compensating recourse.
You may remember that this is the time of year, with my birthday coming up on the 25th, that I normally mention that, although my newsletters are written and sent out free of charge, I do appreciate any donations anyone cares to make for my efforts. And, I am quite grateful to anyone who has given me a donation in the past.
Obviously, this year my situation is quite a bit more financially stressed. So, I thought I would share my story while I put out this year’s reminder.
I know a lot of us are being financially challenged these days, but If you are in a position to, and feel inspired to, make a donation to help in restarting my life at this time, you can use the PayPal donate button on the right.
Several people have urged me to start a Go Fund Me campaign, so I have gone ahead and done that, if that is something preferable to some folks.
Here is the link for that: gofundme.com/recovering-from-fire-burning-my-home
And, if you prefer to send a check or money order you can send that to me at:

I still have my computer, my Tarot cards and my Astrological knowledge, so I can still practice my trade.
I also plan to fulfill my pledge to write some interesting articles for this election season. I was hoping to write one quite soon about the current Astrological exams of the USA, and later articles on the Charts of Biden, Trump, Harris and Pence.
There is one fortunate thing in the midst of all of this. All of the copies of my two books: “The Astrological Karma of the USA” and “Charles & Diana: The Inside Story”, are in my shed up at my friend’s place. He is responsible for fulfilling book orders when I’m traveling. So, I still have all of those printed copies and will be able to keep them ‘in print.’
In the meantime, I am definitely having to listen to the advice that I give my clients:
“You have to have faith that if something is not happening, it just means that something else is happening.”
Crazy times we are living in eh? Some more crazy than others.
Us Astrologers, however, have known for some time that 2020 was going to be quite a trip for all of us. It certainly has been for me.
Love and Blessings to you All,
