Starwise Forecast for February 2017
Dear Friends, Clients and Subscribers,
We enter February 2017 on a Rising Moon, until the Full Moon on the 10th.
2 – On this Groundhog day/Candlemas, Mercury in Capricorn will square Jupiter in Libra. Serious mental energies at odds with belief systems within partnerships. A challenge to be large enough to embrace it all.
3 – Venus goes from watery Pisces into fiery Aries, until she retrogrades back into Pisces on April 2nd.
5 – Jupiter stops/stations and turns retrograde until June 9th.
7 – Mercury goes from earthy Capricorn into airy Aquarius, until the 25th.
9 – The Sun in Aquarius sextiles/harmonizes with Uranus in Aries. As Aquarius is ruled by Aries this would be an especially good time to open to surprise, unconventional, ‘out of the box,’ ways to experience, express, manifest that Aquarian humanitarian, brother/sisterhood of all of humanity. Or a time to do as Jimi Hendrix said: ‘Let your Freak Flag fly!’
10 – First we have Mercury in Aquarius sextiling/harmonizing with Venus in Aries. Following on the Aquarian harmony of the day before, here there is the opportunity to express what you feel, and to really feel what someone is trying to express.
Later in the day we have the Sun in Aquarius/Moon in Leo, Full Moon opposition with a Lunar Eclipse. This Full Moon always entails a challenge at integrating the conscious Aquarian urge towards group consciousness, and the unconscious Leonine urge towards individual expression and leadership. In this case it is the Lunar, unconscious, Leo, leadership energies which will be ‘eclipsed’, ‘rebooted,’ going through a death/rebirth.
This will be occurring rather close to the Leo Mars and Ascendant of President Donald Trump. I, for one, will be watching for what effect this may have on him.
11 – The following day the Sun in Aquarius will trine/harmonize with Jupiter in Libra, so some of that Aquarian ‘love for everyone’ idealism supporting/and being supported by, optimism and beneficence in relationships.
13 – The Sun in Aquarius sextiles/harmonizes with Saturn in Sagittarius, hence the potential to really concretely manifest, or steadfastly commit to the higher Aquarian ideals.
16 – Mercury in Aquarius sextiles/harmonizes with Mars in Aries. Both planets are in signs where they can function well. A great time for energetic, powerful expressions of those Aquarian ideals.
20/21 – Mercury in Aquarius sextiles/harmonizes with Uranus in Aries. Again, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, so this is resonant with the earlier Sun/Uranus sextiles on the 9th. This time it is mental understandings and communications that can benefit from the highly intuitive, liberating energies of Aquarius.
Then on the 21st Mercury in Aquarius trines Jupiter in Libra, again resonant with the Sun/Jupiter trine on the 11th. This time that optimistic, beneficent Jupiter in Libra partnership energy can provide a boost of faith to our Mercurial, mental communications and understandings.
22 – 26 – Mars in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn on the 22nd, and conjuncts the Uranus in Aries end of the Pluto/Uranus Square on the 26th, thus adding a pretty feisty Mars in Aries aggressivity, tension and/or courage to this on-going Pluto/Uranus tension of this decade, of major transformation of governing/economic structures of society and our own psyches.
23 – On the 23rd, however, we can take advantage of a sextiles/harmony between Mercury in Aquarius and Saturn in Sagittarius, hence the ability to stay focused, loyal, and grounded in one’s thoughts and expressions while the larger dramas and tensions are likely to be occurring.
25 – Mercury goes from airy Aquarius into watery Pisces, until March 13th.
26 – It just so happens that on the day that Mars conjuncts the Uranus in Aries end of the Pluto/Uranus Square we have a Sun/Moon, New Moon conjunction in Pisces, with a Solar Eclipse.
This New Moon, aligning Pisces, emotional feelings and sensitivities between the conscious and unconscious is always a day relatable to the Tarot Card of The Moon, which corresponds to the higher aspect of Pisces. The Moon card represents the initiation where you must go onto the dark side of your Moon, where you are completely vulnerable to all of your emotions, including emotions which previously have been suppressed or repressed. But it is so that you can feel those feelings so that they can be healed and released into the light.
With a Solar Eclipse ‘rebooting’ of the conscious Pisces energies, I am reminded of what Hilarion says about someone born with the Sun in Pisces:
The Piscean is one who, in a previous existence, ended the life in an act of desperation for no better reason than to end the pain. …. Because of this self-destructive act, the Piscean is tapped into a source of despondency and pessimism, which can often filter down to the personality. But it is not the Creator’s way to give only the negative. In addition, the Piscean is allowed to tap a deep wellspring of compassion and sympathy for others in the hopes that by occupying himself with the concerns and sadnesses of others, he will forget the melancholy of the self and make of the life a shrine of dedication to others. The sensitivity that results can often drive the Piscean to seek escape from the harshness of life through such avenues as drugs or alcohol. The avoidance of such tendencies is the primary lesson of the Piscean.
So, having that New Moon/Solar Eclipse in this sign of very deep emotional feeling and vulnerability, on the same day as Mars conjuncts Uranus in Aries, is likely to really ‘let the hounds loose’ in willful courage to wherever/whatever one feels needs liberating, should make for an interesting few days, especially in light of what is coming on the next day.
27 – So, just to top it all off, Mars will oppose Jupiter in Libra, really triggering the third corner of an on-going T-square between Jupiter in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn, and Uranus in Aries.
That aggressive/courageous Mars in Aries energy will be in tension with Jupiter in Libra which normally promises harmony in relationships.
I think this Jupiter in Libra being brought into tension with the Pluto/Uranus Square of this decade is why personal relationships are, and will be, a much larger factor in the global transformations taking place, whether between Trump and his cabinet choices, or Trump and other world leaders. Clearly we are already starting to see that.
Earlier this month that Jupiter in Libra was largely able to work in a positive way, although not on the 2nd.
Mars conjuncting Uranus and squaring Jupiter at the end here is likely to make things more testy.
I expect when the Sun goes into Aries next month the general energy level on all of this will rise substantially.
