July 2015

Starwise Forecast for July 2015

We enter July on the day of the Full Moon. And a Venus/Jupiter conjunction. Very auspicious!

1 – First the Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Leo. Venus and Jupiter are called the ‘benefics,’ positive, lucky planetary energies. Here is what Hilarion says about Venus and Jupiter in Leo:

Leo
Venus in this sign afflicted will give great idealism to the love nature, but by the same token can lead to great disappointments when the flaws of the adored person begin to show up. The main lesson is to see, with eyes unclouded by idealistic self-deceptions, that all on the earth have weaknesses and failings, and to love them even with all their flaws.

Leo
In Leo, ruled by the Sun, Jupiter bestows an abundance of kindness, or at least the potential to show consideration and kindness to others. In affliction, aside from an arrogant trait, there is a tendency to exaggerate the importance of love-involvements, to enter into affairs or liaisons too readily and without thought, and to allow the mind to play ceaselessly with the notion of “being in love”. This is the major tendency which requires correction or moderation with Jupiter afflicted in Leo.

This is definitely a time for some pretty enthusiastic idealistic emotional aspiration, easily played out romantically if that is your inclination. Just be careful of the potentials for exaggeration and over-idealism, but hey, there are times when you just want to go for it!

The Sun in Cancer will trine Neptune in Pisces, adding the potential for great emotional caring expressed with unconditional love and a focus on healing.

But….at the end of the day is the Sun in Cancer/Moon in Capricorn Full Moon opposition. Capricorn is kind of a dreary place for the Moon, often indicating a childhood burdened with responsibility, a psychologically or physically missing parent, or a lack of love and affection. Master Hilarion says this makes it such that the person with a Capricorn Moon will look back on their childhood the way that a character in a Charles Dickens novel would.

Now Neptune is also sextiling the Moon on this day so there can be some potential deep healing between the conscious, solar Cancer energies seeking nurturing and emotional security, and these Lunar unconscious memories/programs of suffering and restriction. Maybe even more of a reason to go for it!

2-5 – Mercury in Gemini sextiles, harmonizes with, Uranus in Aries. Should be great for communicating with new freedom outside of the ‘box.’

On the 3rd Mercury sextiles Jupiter in Leo on the other side, continuing with even more optimism and confidence in those communications.

And, on the 5th Mercury sextiles Venus in Leo, so three days of positive Mercury aspects. A great time to learn and speak truth, and on the 5th your sincere feelings behind that truth.

6 – 12 – The Sun in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn on the 6th and squares Uranus in Aries on the 12th. During these days the Sun in Cancer will be engaged with, challenged by, this archetypal ‘zeitgeist’ of this decade. Emotional needs and desires for security being challenged by Plutonian death/rebirth and a Uranian search for freedom. Can they all work harmoniously together? Or create conflict? Breakdown or breakthrough?

8 – Mercury goes into Cancer, a little emotional and watery for the likes of Mercury, until the 24th.

Mars in Cancer, which can be feisty in the home, will trine, harmonize with Neptune, so some sympathy and compassion can bear upon his feisty ways.

13 – Mercury in Cancer will also trine Neptune in Pisces, so while the Mercurial mental energies are a little more emotionally blurred than usual (Mercury in Cancer) we might as well engage in some Neptunian imagination, fantasy, or non-rational mystical states.

14 – Venus in Leo comes up against the limiting authoritative likes of Saturn in Scorpio in a Square. Time for a ‘reality check’ for those Venus in Leo romantic ideals.

15-16 – The Sun/Moon New Moon conjunction in Cancer. This New Moon which is normally the best day of the year to really feel and set your emotional needs and intentions for home, family and personal emotionally nurturing needs is occurring along with some pretty potent additional planetary aspects occurring on this day. As was the case with the Full Moon on the 1st.

This New Moon coincides with Mars in Cancer opposite Pluto, and on the 16th Mercury conjuncts Mars.

So, basically, we have a Mercury/Mars conjunction in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn. Mars in Cancer is feisty in the home and family relationships. Mercury in Cancer can be mentally blurred by emotions. Earlier they were being helped by harmonies with Neptune. Now they are being challenged by the planet of death/rebirth in the sign of structure and economic ambition (Pluto in Capricorn) Could be a run on the stock market? A Greek exit of the Euro (a grexit)? Or….?

18 – Venus goes from fiery idealistic Leo into analytical, at times critical Virgo, until August 2nd.

Mercury in Cancer squares Uranus in Aries. That mental/emotional mix being challenged once again, this time by the fiery, impulsive freedom, change-seeking Uranus in Aries.

21 – 22 – The Sun in the 2nd to the last degree of Cancer trines, harmonizes with, Saturn in Scorpio. After some Cancer, emotional family, home challenges this aspect can help to make a new disciplined, grounded, realistic focus and commitment.

On the 22nd Mercury in Cancer makes the same positive aspect to Saturn.

Also on the 22nd, the Sun moves into the month of Leo.

23 – Mercury goes from Cancer into Leo, until August 8. And Mercury conjuncts the Sun in Leo. So no more Mercury mental energies being confused by Cancerian emotions. Now Mercury in proud, creative, at times self-absorbed, Leo connects with the conscious Solar energies in that same proud, at times self-absorbed, sign of Leo.

25 – Venus goes retrograde, until September 6.

Mars in Cancer squares Uranus in Aries. This can make for some surprise conflicts, as well as courage towards new freedoms.

26 – Uranus goes retrograde, until December 26.

31 – The Sun in Leo/Moon in Aquarius Full Moon opposition. Yes there are two Full Moons this month. This one has to do with the Solar conscious Leo potential individual leadership and self-creative energies being at odds with the subconscious Lunar Aquarian energies of group consciousness and brotherhood, needing to find a healing integration.

On this day Venus also retrogrades back into Leo, until October 9.
