Dear Friends, Clients and Subscribers,
We enter March 2017 on a Rising Moon, until the Full Moon on the 12th.
1 – Ash Wednesday for Catholics, and they (and we) will have the Sun in Pisces conjunct to Neptune in Pisces. A good time to surrender one’s ego to a Higher Spiritual reality.
2 – Jupiter in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries. This day is the peak of this revolutionary challenge to positive, optimistic outlooks around relationships and alliances. There can be new freedom. There can be fanatical disruptions.
4 – Venus goes retrograde until April 15. A time for going back over our emotional, affectional patterns.
Later in the day Mercury in Pisces conjuncts Neptune in Pisces, allowing mental understandings and communications to surrender and align to imagination, compassion and/or spiritual transcendence.
5 – Mars in Aries harmonizes with Saturn in Sagittarius. A good time to focus and dedicate that fiery will energy, perhaps in long-term projects that need a boost to get them going.
6 – The Sun in Pisces conjuncts Mercury in Pisces. A strong alignment of Mercurial mental energies with Solar conscious energies in the watery sign of compassion and vulnerability.
7/9 – The Sun/Mercury conjunction of the previous day is also moving into harmony with Pluto in Capricorn (Mercury on the 7th, Sun on the 9th) So, this conscious mental Piscean alignment can comfortably submit to a pretty intense investigation of one’s deepest emotional motives, and see where that insight can be brought to bear as a means of transformation upon situations/individuals externally.
Later on the 9th, Mars goes from fiery Aries into earthy Taurus, until April 21st.
12 – Mercury will change signs on the next day but before he leaves the last degrees of Pisces he moves into a square with Saturn in the last degrees of Sagittarius. Here the hard cold facts of someone’s belief system can really challenge one’s temptation to think you’re a victim. Best to see that we all have both sides.
This theme becomes intensified as a couple hours later we have the Sun/Moon, Full Moon opposition of the Sun in Pisces and the Moon in Virgo. The Solar/conscious, watery/emotional Pisces energy will be confronted with the instinctual, unconscious alignment with Virgo, more earthy rational practicality. This can make our conscious identity more vulnerable to criticisms from within oneself and from others. As usual with a Full Moon polarity, it is a time to embrace and integrate both sides.
13 – Mercury goes from watery Pisces into fiery Aries, until the 31st.
17 – On this St. Patrick’s Day the Sun in the last degrees of Pisces squares Saturn in the last degrees of Sagittarius. This Saturnian restrictive ‘reality check’ on our emotional sensitivities and vulnerabilities somehow makes me think of an Irish joke:
“Why did God invent whiskey? : To keep the Irish from taking over the Earth!”
18 – Mercury in Aries conjuncts Venus in Aries. Too bad this isn’t happening on Valentine’s Day. We can still go for a dynamic expression of our emotional/affectional impulses.
20 – The Vernal/Spring Equinox, the Sun enters into the month of Aries.
23 – 30 – There is an on-going Jupiter Square Pluto, Jupiter opposite Uranus, Uranus square Pluto ‘T-square’ happening this year. It features prominently in the Inauguration chart for the new Presidency of Donald Trump on January 20th.
The second exact square between Jupiter and Pluto will be on March 30. For this kind of aspect I found the following quote on the Internet regarding someone born with this aspect in their Natal Chart:
Jupiter Square Pluto
This indicates that your personal philosophy and attitudes will condition your life, and because they tend to be fixed and dogmatic can serve to bring you into conflict with others. This philosophy or set of beliefs will either be ‘self-created’ or tend to reflect older, more traditional religious dogma; either of them is likely to be out of phase with much of contemporary life and social development. You will either express a peculiarly unique and personally individual outlook, or be willingly absorbed within a traditional structure. Basically, you are likely to be antagonistic to the modern world, believing that it is taking the wrong direction, and will be inclined towards a desire to reform the outer world and people so that they begin to conform to your world vision. There is a tendency towards mental arrogance, a certainty of your own way being right as opposed to the ways of others; and you are unlikely to be receptive to alternative beliefs and new ideas. You will be an active exponent of your way, expressing it forcefully to others, either by a challenging of their beliefs or by attempts at conversion; you feel that you have a mission to perform, and this conviction gives you the inner strength to continue. If rejection occurs, you tend not to use that experience as a means to re-evaluate your beliefs, but inwardly reassert your own sense of righteousness. Whilst it may appear that your own system of belief is intellectually founded, the truth is that it is rooted deep in your emotions, and you feel its personal meaning very intensely, thus whilst attempting to challenge and persuade others, you maintain a barrier to outer challenges against yourself. You are afraid that if your belief structure cracked and began to fall apart, then your inner cohesiveness as a personality would too, as your identity is so intertwined with your own beliefs. To some degree, most people are in a similar situation to yourself, where self-identity is defined by beliefs, opinions, attitudes, thoughts, emotions and body; in defending personal convictions you are defending yourself. It may be that your particular belief is not obviously religious; it could easily be political (Found at astromatrix.com)
This does feel what we will be dealing with during the next 4 years of the Trump Presidency, although this penchant of intensely held emotional beliefs is something we will all have to be dealing with during the term of this Presidency.
Now, the tension between these three planets are all in ‘Cardinal signs’: Capricorn, Aries and Libra. I have written in the past when fast-moving personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) had entered a Cardinal sign and was hitting both ends of the on-going Pluto/Uranus Square of this decade.
This year when one of these personal planets enters a Cardinal sign (Including the sign of Cancer) it will also engage in a tense way with Jupiter. So the potential for fanatical, exaggerated, over-confident Jupiterian energies which are already challenging the Plutonian transformation and Uranian freedom themes getting personally activated or experienced is heightened.
This month we will have Mercury in Aries squaring Pluto in Capricorn on the 23rd, opposing Jupiter in Libra on the 24th and conjuncting the Uranus in Aries on the 26th, just before the double Aries New Moon on the 26th.
These are some pretty powerful transformative or potentially angry/fanatical energies affecting mental understandings and communications, all leading up to the exact Jupiter/Pluto Square on the 30th. Should be interesting!
25 – On this day, in the midst of the above, we have some additional fiery Aries, emotional dynamism active as the Sun in
Aries conjuncts Venus in Aries.
27 – The aforementioned Sun/Moon New Moon conjunction in Aries, always a good time to align conscious and unconscious energies inspired by courage and willpower.
Earlier on the day, Mars in Taurus will harmonize with Neptune in Pisces. Mars also represents will energy and rules Aries. Having it in harmony with Neptune in Pisces can create an avenue for some compassionate sensitivity in the midst of all the above. Or the inclination to dedicate willful energy towards those who are suffering.
29 – On this day before the exact Jupiter/Pluto Square, Mercury moves away from the tense engagement with the T-square and harmonizes with Saturn in Sagittarius, hence the potential for some more realistic, responsible, and a ‘longer-term view’ of things in our mental understandings and communications.
30 – The previously mentioned Jupiter/Pluto Square happens today.
31 – Mercury goes into earthy Taurus, until it retrogrades back into Aries on April 20th.
